Keystone Policy Center Welcomes Eric Olson to Lead Energy Projects

Keystone Policy Center is pleased to welcome Eric Olson as an affiliate, where he will lead efforts to develop a comprehensive climate and energy strategy. Working closely with Keystone staff, the Keystone Energy Board, and its Board of Trustees, Olson will identify key opportunities for collaboration and drive initiatives that support a more sustainable and resilient energy future.

“We are thrilled to welcome Eric to Keystone and to leverage his extensive experience in sustainability and energy policy,” said Christine Scanlan, President and CEO of the Keystone Policy Center. “His leadership and expertise will help shape Keystone’s energy initiatives at a critical time, ensuring our work continues to drive practical and collaborative solutions for the future of energy.”

With over 25 years of experience in sustainability, multi-sector collaboration, and strategic consulting, Olson brings deep substantive expertise in climate and energy issues. He most recently served as Managing Director of Sustainability Services for Accenture North America. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), where he spent 16 years shaping sustainable business strategies, enhancing supply chain resilience, and leading large-scale multi-stakeholder collaborations. His earlier career includes leadership roles at the Boston Consulting Group and as a founding partner of the Mitchell Madison Group.

In this new role, Olson will foster cross-sector dialogue and actionable partnerships that address the evolving challenges in the energy sector. His work will build on Keystone’s long history of convening diverse perspectives to develop pragmatic, forward-thinking policies.

Olson holds a Master of Philosophy in Russian and East European Studies from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Russian from Macalester College.
