Leadership Summit
INSPIRING LEADERS —
CULTIVATING COLLABORATION
Leadership Summit equips Summit County, Colorado leaders with the skills and relationships necessary to lead collaborative efforts, solve community problems and capitalize on the next generation of opportunities for our community.
Leadership Summit is a nine-month leadership training program beginning September 2008. The program strives to demonstrate that an engaged community can balance diverse interests and needs resulting in cooperative and effective planning and decision making.
The program has been designed and organized by a diverse steering committee made up of Summit County residents dedicated to instilling collaborative leadership in our community. The Keystone Center facilitates the program, with support from the organizational partners listed on the right.
Curriculum
Leadership Development
The early sessions have a strong emphasis on leadership development, helping participants identify their own leadership strengths and building skills to put those strengths to work at the individual, organizational and community level.
Community Relationships and Engagement
Community leaders conduct sessions that share their own lessons about leadership and present cases for the class to study. The class calendar below shares issues to be addressed. By using these issues as case studies, participants meet the community leaders working in these areas, have time to develop and test new approaches to addressing these issues, and share opportunities for individual involvement.
Action Projects
Participants will identify community-oriented projects to work on in teams over the course of the year.
Tuition
Tuition for the 2008-2009 program is $1250. Some scholarship funds may be available.
Application Deadline
Applications are due August 1, 2008.
