Justin Kram, Program Coordinator, Center for Science and Public Policy

Justin Kram earned a BA from Brown University, where he studied literature and the French language, in 2003. He eventually went on to spend a year teaching English in three elementary schools outside Paris in a largely immigrant community. This first-hand experience negotiating cultural and language barriers inspired him to learn more about the field of conflict resolution. He received community mediation training in New York City in late 2005. However, it was not until the summer of 2007, after working for a time as a paralegal in New York and then as a tutor in the St. Louis city schools, that Justin had the opportunity to interface with conflict resolution practitioners at The Keystone Center, where he interned for three months. Subsequently, Justin was offered a position in the Washington, D.C. office where he supports the activities of senior staff members in all sectors of the Center for Science and Public Policy, focusing his efforts primarily on the Energy Practice group. He is preparing to return to school in the fall for an MA in International Relations, concentrating in conflict management.
