Andrew Banks, Field Instructor, Keystone Science School
Andrew joins the Keystone Science School staff following a year as an assistant teacher at the Logan School for Creative Learning in Denver. While visiting KSS with his class he fell in love with the rustic yet beautiful setting and decided he had to come teach here! A native of Colorado, Andrew developed a passion for outdoor education during his high school years at the Jefferson County Open School.
Andrew earned his B.A. from Earlham College in Richmond, IN, where he studied psychology, with a focus in education, and worked as a college wilderness instructor and ropes course facilitator. Before moving back to Colorado in 2005, Andrew taught environmental science at the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center and portrayed a 19th century fur trader at Conner Prairie, a living history museum in Indianapolis. Andrew loves to travel, hike, ski, square dance, sing, and play his guitar.
