Our Keystone Educational Excellence Programs shape education communities around the globe with the development and dissemination of non-biased, hands-on, interdisciplinary curricula. With support from public, private and corporate partners, we work with educators to improve science education and instill in today's students – our future leaders – a better understanding of the natural world and an ability to solve complex problems.
Our programs were borne from The Keystone Center’s belief that policy decision-makers need to truly understand the natural and environmental sciences. Key Issues Institute, our earliest program offering, was launched in 1992 with the goal of bringing environmental issues into the classroom and training educators to investigate these complex issues with their students.
Using this highly successful model, we have since designed and implemented a wide variety of curricula offerings and professional training institutes, addressing complex global issues in an array of forums. Depending on the scope of the project, trainings are conducted regionally, nationally or internationally.
